"Mummy papa I'm home." My voice echoed throughout the house as I shut the door behind me. At the doorway, I kicked off my shoes and went inside. "Mumma." As I walked into the living room, I looked around for her. "Y/n they aren't home yet." A woman in her 40s was reading the newspaper when I looked at her. In a split second, I recognized her. "Aunty". I rushed over to give her a hug before putting my violin bag on the couch. "Every time when I visit your home, I see a different change in you." I raised my gaze to meet hers. "Look at how adorable you are. You've developed into a stunning young woman. But to me, you're still a little child."
"Go take a bath" . As she continued to pat my head, she said, "I made your favorite cookies." The word cookie caused my eyes to light up. Her homemade cookies are tasty. She's very good at baking them. Every time she comes to visit our family; she always brings my favorite cookies. "Okay, I'll be back in a few." I said as I hurried to my room after getting up.
I went downstairs after getting clean and saw my parents chatting joyfully but my aunt was nowhere to be seen. I rushed to hug them, and they both gave me the biggest hug in return. "So, when are you guys leaving?" My aunt came from the kitchen with a plate of cookies and asked. When my head was resting on his shoulder, my dad patted it and said, "The flight is on Friday," My mind began to become confused. "Where are you going?" I pulled my head off his shoulder and looked them in the eyes as I asked.
My mom told me, "Honey, we're going to Korea to expand our business there and check on some issues with the new branch," in response to my unspoken questions. "Yeah, there's been some lack of progress at the new branch, so we're going to handle it," said my dad. "Looks like it’ll take a while to make some changes." A feeling of panic came over me. "How about me? Without you two, how can I remain here by myself?" My chest tight at the idea of spending so much time apart from them. Dad appeared contemplative for a while. Why don't you accompany us? There, you can finish your studies," he suggested.
That seems like a smart idea, but will I be able to support it? What happens if I lag behind? I looked down and muttered. Together, my mom and aunt uttered the words, "You're the best, honey." "You’ve always done your best, and you will continue to do your best." I gave my father a beaming grin. "All right," I said, feeling more energized, "I'll go pack." "All right, now prepare yourself. There is much for us to do. My dad said, "We'll visit your university tomorrow to get your transfer certificate."
With a pounding heart from nerves and excitement, I went upstairs and started packing. I chose an outfit to wear the following day when we went for the certificate after going through my clothes. After finishing my packing, I fell onto the bed, my head spinning with ideas. I muttered to myself, "I feel like something special is about to happen in my life when this journey begins," as sleep gradually took me over and my eyelids grew heavy. Suddenly, I found myself in a state of hazy calmness.
